Come be a part of Flicker Alley’s first-ever Blu-ray/DVD release party screening!

Flicker Alley and the Film Noir Foundation are proud to present Too Late for Tears at NOIR CITY: HOLLYWOOD, the 18th Annual Los Angeles Festival of Film Noir! The screening will be held at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, April 24 at 5 p.m. And make sure to join us beforehand for pre-screening cocktails at 4 p.m. to celebrate the world-premiere Blu-ray/DVD release of Too Late for Tears!

When a pair of film noir icons like Lizabeth Scott and Dan Duryea collide, sparks are sure to fly. Jane Palmer (Scott) and her husband Alan (Arthur Kennedy) mysteriously have $60,000 literally dropped in their laps. The circumstances seem mighty suspicious to Alan, who wants to turn the money over to the police. But in a materialistic rapture, Jane won’t let it go. She doesn’t care where it came from, or what danger might ensue—not if it will bring her the luxury she craves. Enter shady Danny Fuller (Duryea, as cocky and menacing as ever), who claims the money belongs to him. Let the games begin!

Rescued and preserved after a five-year crusade by the Film Noir Foundation, this 1949 classic will be projected from a 35mm print painstakingly restored by UCLA Film & Television Archive. Eddie Muller and Alan K. Rode of the Film Noir Foundation will be hosting the night’s proceedings, and rumor has it that there MIGHT just be pre-release copies for sale of the brand-new, Blu-ray/DVD dual-format editions of Too Late for Tears and Woman on the Run, both unavailable anywhere else until May 10.

NOIR CITY: HOLLYWOOD, the longest-running film noir festival in Los Angeles, is presented by the American Cinematheque and Film Noir Foundation. The festival will screen 20 films over a period of 10 days, from April 15–24.

Be sure to get your tickets here for Too Late for Tears on Sunday, April 24 at 5 p.m.—cheese, cocktails, and more beginning at 4 p.m.!
